MOPSOS
ABOUT MOPSOS
When the Internet revolution started in the lates 1990's, most business people were focused on the Internet as a productivity tool. They spoke about marketplaces, killer apps, disintermediation...
At that time, I had the chance to meet in San Francisco one person who thought differently: Andy GROVE, the CEO of Intel, who said during a meeting something I never forgot: "you don't get it. The market for the Internet is going to be education. In a few years, we will think about email as a rounding error". Since that day, I was convinced that the Internet would change the world in a similar way as the printing press in the 15th century. It would change everything because the way we would have access to knowledge, not only to products, services or people, would be completely different. This is the reason I became so passionate about knowledge management. I bought the not so humble domain name mopsos.com back in 2000 for the day I would create a consulting firm.
Much later in 2016, Gilles BABINET published a book called "Digital Transformation: the Advent of Platforms". The book argued that digital transformation was not about providing employees with tools to work faster and cheaper, but about creating an infrastructure allowing them to connect with various sources of knowledge coming from everywhere.
My vision and my practice of Knowledge Management was inspired by these visionaries and many others I could easily make a list of. Perhaps what makes my approach different from others is that I don't believe in return on investment to measure the validity of an investment in KM. You don't ask for a RoI to send your kids to school, because you believe that good education will give them - and maybe you as well - a better life. But you do ask for evidence that they are learning, that they are committed, and that the evidence of this will appear when they succeed at exams.
Whether you’re about to launch a new KM initiative, need advice on your KM system, or would like a timely tip on matters big or small - I’m your go-to source. Contact me today to set up a meeting and find out more about what I can do for you.
